For prophylaxis in chronic hemolytic states or 5 mg every 1-7 days depending on underlying disease.

Prevention of neural tube defects in 5 mg daily started before conception and continued
women known to be at risk throughout the first trimester
Pregnancy: In established folate deficiency 5 mg daily continued to term
Children: For children below 12 years old a more suitable form of dosage form
For folate deficiency anemia Children 12 to 18 years old 1 tablet (5mg) a day
For 4 months, the maintenance dose is 5mg
For haemolytic anemia and metabolic disorderChildren 12 to 18 years old 1 to 2 tablet (5-10mg) a day
For prevention of folate deficiency in Children 12 to 18 years old 1 to 2 tablet (5-10mg) a day
