Each Film-coated tablet contains:
Clarithromycin ... 250mg & 500mg
For respiratory tract infections, muld to moderate skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media; Helicobacter pylori eradication.
By mouth, 250 mg every 12 hours for 7 days, increase in severe infections to 500 mg every 12 hours for up to 14 days; 30-40 kg(10-12 years) 250 mg twice or as prescribed by the physician.
Gastrointestinal disturbances are the most frequent adverse effect than with erythromycin. Taste disturbances, stomatitis, glossitis and tooth discoloration have occured. Transient elevations of liver enzyme value, cholestatic jaundice and hepatitis have been reported. Headache and rashes from mild skin eruption to rarely Steven-Johnson Syndrome have occured. There have also been reports of transient CNS effects such as anxiety, dizziness, insomia, hallucinations and confusion. Hearing loss has been reported occasionally and is and is usually reversible.
